The quartet recently gave a performance in Glasgow's Centre for Contemporary Art with the excellent band Any Colour Black. The performance was part of the CCA's Crypic Nights series which offers an exciting and experimental platform through which to present new music to an engaged audience. We added a string backing to Any Colour Black's songs but due to some excellent writing on their part, the musical balance was shared and we bridged our sounds, genres and ideas into what was apparently a successful and enjoyable evening. The band were well prepared and very professional and had a very clear vision of what they were looking to achieve which was very useful in guiding our input in various areas. We hope to make some recordings with them in the near future and would be very interested to collaborate in any future projects in which we would be suitable. There is a link to the review of the gig on their website on which they have also kindly uploaded videos and photos of our time together. We wish the band every success in the future and look forward to meeting again soon. The Viridian Quartet |
